NOWAYAWAY
DR liv Kabuki and the art of nocamera

An expedition through stillness in motion — where a destination will unfold itself.

She is a Mercedes 815 4x4 named Dr Liv Kabuki. A home. A studio. A vessel for traveling through landscapes — outer and inner.

I am a Nocamera — always wondering about what I see. Constantly expanding my visual spectrum to notice more than I did before. To ask what attracts my eye, and why, with the eyes of the innocence I once had.

This is not a journey for the sake of motion — but an expedition into being. Into wondering. Into the stillness in motion that arises when silence begins to speak.
StillMotion.

There is a place I rarely have dared or be able to trust. A place beneath the searching, beneath the showing and proving. A quiet that doesn’t need to be captured or explained — only inhabited. Free from the noise of my own expectations. This is my home. The place I have always felt called to create from. From rest. From enoughness. From a still center that no longer performs. A quiet, minimal tone beneath the noise — like a tuning fork waiting to be felt. A place only found alone, yet always present, everywhere. A place that lies between no way and a way.

This book asks questions that we may all carry — about life, and the other side of it. About fear, and not-knowing. About understanding what has never been understood. What can’t be taken for granted but slowly disappears in daily comfort. Realizing the true value of it only when we are about to lose it.

A book of found moments — waiting long before I started wondering. Photographs and words, written down like seen images.

A Claude Lorrain mirror from the 1800s. A way of seeing that begins long before the shutter opens. Each image is not taken — it is noticed. A trace of something that nearly stayed invisible, seen through the art of Nocamera.

Photographs of reflections and fragments of time — seen through the Claude mirror and a lens from before.

It is not religious. Nor spiritual. But something beyond, or before, either.

It finds its shape in the way you feel what you see. In what draws your gaze. In your own private why — or what makes sense, or doesn’t.

An end became a beginning. And here is a now that was once a future.

"WHY”

What would they say, if they could speak again? Would they whisper why? Would they ask, haven’t you learned? Don’t you know — every father, every mother, every brother, every sister mourns the same way in every corner of the world. The shape of loss does not change. The ache of absence knows no flag. If we truly felt that… would we still need an enemy? In the quiet beneath the stone, you can still hear it — the longing, not for revenge, but for life.
